Caribou Pond+Acadia National Park
Mike and I finally took a vacation together this summer. We went away for a week to his family’s camp in Lincoln, ME where we stayed for 3-4 day. We spent our time kayaking, paddleboating, reading and playing King’s Corners. One particularly rainy day we headed into Bangor, stopped at Bullmoose, went to look at cars, and met up with Megan and her three boys for dinner. The next day, we headed to camp in Southwest Harbor, ME for two nights. We hiked for 3 days in Acadia. The first day we did a hike from Sand Beach to Otter Point, about 3 1/2 miles. The next day we did Gorham Mt. and Cadillac Cliffs. We then went to grab lunch in Bar Harbor. We ate at Rupununi, a place Mike had been before. I got a lobster roll, and Mike a pulled pork sandwich. After we went and did Jordan Pond, all in all about 5 1/2 miles that day. The next morning we packed up camp, and went to hike to Beech Cliffs, about 1 mile total, and then did the Great Head Loop, 1 1/2 miles. We ate lunch at Route 66 Restaurant in Bar Harbor before heading home. It was a great vacation, and I look forward to going back sometime to hike Cadillac’s North Ridge trail. Acadia is amazing and beautiful and should be enjoyed again and again.
